This month we notice the continued price competition amongst retail giants in the supermarket sector. The latest IBIS World Industry Performance Report (IBIS World, 2015) on the Supermarket Industry has revealed that the increasing popularity of private-label products and rapid growth of German-owned ALDI has drastically altered the playing field. The report forecasts a growth of 5.2% to $94.0 billion in 2014-15 within the industry.
